Duck Hunting the Pacific Flyway!

Opening Day Duck Hunting!

Opening day of duck hunting in Washington what a great day it is going to be. They are out in the marsh setting up and waiting for the day to begin.

The Pacific Flyway goes from the northern coast of Washington to the Salton Sea in Southern California.  The flyway hosts some of the most concentrations of migrating wintering waterfowl in the United States.

There are also a wealth of public hunting areas for waterfowl hunters willing to travel and explore new area’s and opportunities.

The most common species that are hunted include mallards, northern shovelers, northern pintails, green-winged teal, American wigeon and geese. And there are thousands of them that are coming in.

Here is a map showing the Pacific flyway for all the migrating waterfowl coming in from Canada to the United States.  The birds definitely have quite the route to go. Not only coming in to the United States but going back in the spring to Canada to have their babies.

Check out their opening day hunt…
