Duck hunting with the right call makes for a very good hunt. Here are the different kinds and sounds of each different call that has been made by the Duck Commander brand.
Selecting the right duck call for you is a personnel choice but they should also factor in where and how they intend to use it. Options that have to be considered the calls tone, range and sharpness. High or low volume, a mellow or ringing tone, double or single reed. Also what is is made out of wood, acrylic or polycarbonate.
It can also come down to if the hunter likes the sound that they get from it after blowing it for the first time.
If you are calling long distances a louder call would be preferred it will carry further. Calling in a closer situation a softer volume and pitch would do the job.
Single-reed and double-reed is personnel preference. Single-reeds have more range and are more versatile, and can be a little harder to get the hang of.
Double-reeds take a little more air to blow and the same range, but sound very realistic.
