Duck hunting on public land is harder then private. There are permits that are required. And a special reservation to have a spot to shot. These are the regulations in north west Missouri in their conservation rules.
Most duck hunting is on private land so if you know someone who owns their own it is definitely an advantage . But barring that you are left to conservation rules and crowded public hunting areas.
We have been lucky in our area we have easy access to public land and we just need a bird license .
